How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses tiny needles to create numerous controlled microscopic wounds in the skin, triggering the body’s repair and rejuvenation processes and resulting in the vastly increased production of collagen and elastin – crucial elements that keep skin supple and firm, the levels of which drop off as we age. What happens during microneedling treatment?

We apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin prior to treatment, We then cleanse your skin and wipe it over with a antimicrobial solution, after which we begin to microneedle your skin, giving extra attention to the issues you want to treat.

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling is only minimally invasive, and we ensure that treatment discomfort is kept to a minimum by applying a topical numbing cream to the skin prior to treatment. The needles are incredibly fine and oscillate at such high speed, the sensation is barely detectable.

What is recovery like?

Many clients take 24 hours or so for downtime after treatment is complete, as microneedling creates temporary redness in the treated areas which can remain for a few hours to a couple of days. Clients with particularly sensitive skin might choose to book an appointment prior to the weekend to gain extra recovery time at home. We will also provide you with a post treatment recovery cream to take home with you.
